Benefits - Reflexology Facts

The origins of Reflexology date back 5,000 years when the Chinese were known to have practiced a form of pressure therapy with a basis similar to that of acupuncture. Today Reflexologists in China make up a large percentage of the work force in this booming natural health care industry.

Reflexology was brought forth to North America in the early 1900’s by Dr. William Fitzgerald and in 1938 by Eunice Ingham, also known as the “Mother of Reflexology”. She is credited for developing and mapping charts of the reflex points and renaming Zone Therapy to Reflexology.
