What do you need to know about proper fitting shoes?
- Shoes should have a stiff cup around the heel; sandals should have a heel strap.
- The toe box should be at least 1.5 inches high to accommodate your toes depth.
- A low broad heel is best, no higher than 1.5 inches.
- The sole should be flexible and bend at the ball of the foot where our foot naturally bends.
- Laces or Velcro are preferred.
- The area between the insole and the outsole should be thick and cushioned as it acts as a shock absorber.
- Walkers, runners or oxfords are the best and most supportive shoe.
- Always try shoes on in the late afternoon to accommodate any swelling.
- Be sure to have your feet professionally measured both sitting and standing
