What do you need to know about proper fitting shoes?

  • Shoes should have a stiff cup around the heel; sandals should have a heel strap.
  • The toe box should be at least 1.5 inches high to accommodate your toes depth.
  • A low broad heel is best, no higher than 1.5 inches.
  • The sole should be flexible and bend at the ball of the foot where our foot
  • naturally bends.
  • Laces or Velcro are preferred.
  • The area between the insole and the outsole should be thick and cushioned
  • as it acts as a shock absorber.
  • Walkers, runners or oxfords are the best and most supportive shoe.
  • Always try shoes on in the late afternoon to accommodate any swelling.
  • Be sure to have your feet professionally measured both sitting and standing
